Boruto Hand Gummy

There are two Boruto snacks in this box and both are pineapple flavored. I assume that's not a coincidence here and pineapple is the designated Boruto flavor. I wonder if they assign flavors to every anime? That would be interesting. This one is supposed to be energy drink flavored, while not an actual energy drink, but I did already get that vibe a bit in the last Boruto snack. Hopefully this will add something a little different into the mix, and if not, it'll at least be a different texture and same refreshing pineapple taste.

The gummy certainly seems to resemble one of those stretchy hand toys. I think I've said this before about other gummies, but this one more than any of them seems to be inspired by that. The hand is very loose and curls up just like those. The flavor is also quite unique and very distinct from the pineapple jelly. Where that was more sweet, this adds a sour component as well, which is really nice, creating an interesting balanced flavor.

When I eat it I just get more of that and it's really nice, definitely like drinking a pineapple energy drink and feeling recharged after a nice romp, except it's slightly more solid. The gummy texture isn't the most satisfying around though, there's a weird consistency too it where it's lacks a little bit of the bite it needs so it melts in your mouth just a little too quickly. I say that though because the flavor is so nice that I want to experience it for longer, but alas it's all over too soon. Not even the tiny second helping of the star can prolong the sadness after that nice flavor left me. Of course I wouldn't be saying this if the flavor wasn't amazing, so it is. Just don't expect it to last too long.

Boruto Pineapple Jellies

Well, once again I have no idea what the series on the cover of this snack is about besides it being a next generation sequel to Naruto. I'm not even sure how this relates to pineapple jellies. At least the Splatoon ones were squid shaped and flavored according to the game's colors. Maybe it's because it's the same color as Boruto's hair? That's a reasonable guess.

They all do at least seem to have different characters on the jelly containers. This one looks particularly emo, hopefully that's not him after tasting the jelly. The jelly smell weirdly enough is overly sweet to the point of being cloying inside the bag but if I smell this one on its own, it's more toned down to a normal pineapple taste. Still has that artificial smell to it though.

It is a rather peculiar pineapple taste. I get the impression there's some other flavor besides pineapple in it, but then I realize it tastes just like that pineapple juice in canned pineapple, but still with something else, maybe an energy drink type flavor? There is another Boruto pineapple snack in this box with that flavor, and maybe they re-used it to create this. It's thankfully not cloyingly sweet like it smells, but I think this jelly would really benefit from a more natural flavor. It's refreshing but not as much as it could be, it feels very bogged down by other ingredients resulting in a bit of a weaker pineapple smell. If pineapple energy drinks are your thing though, this may just be the quick hit of that flavor that you need.

Jin Jin Jelly Straws

Nijiya Market surprisingly enough is not the only Asian market near my den, 99 Ranch is also rather close. This place sells items from a bunch of Asian cultures though, and this instance I picked up this Taiwanese snack because who doesn't love jelly? As explained before jelly snacks are basically a shot of a flavor delivered in a sweet somewhat-liquid form, nice for a really quick refresher after a meal. These ones come in straw form, which is a very convenient delivery mechanism.

...for humans. For paws it's not the best as I struggle to open the grape one. Even for humans it seems to be a bit of a flawed design because the perforation is a little bit below the jelly, meaning every time you're going to get some on your hands. I can just lick it off my paws I guess! Anyways the grape one has a really nice flavor that's like a grape Jolly Rancher except softer. I like how refreshing it is, sometimes candy leaves your mouth dry but this one requires nothing afterwards.

Onto the strawberry one which drips down onto my back leg (sigh), the taste reminds me of a strawberry tea. Once again very nice, and plenty of sweetness but not too sweet. The pineapple one on the other hand is just like sweet neutral flavor jelly. I don't get much pineapple. So it can be a mixed bag, but overall these are really nice ways to put a sweet flavor into your mouth. I would say without hassle, but there's always a little bit of hassle and mess opening them. Please fix?

Fue Ramune Whistle Candies: Pineapple

Yep, you read that right. Whistle candies! Seems like Japan likes to have a little more fun with their food, so they created these candies that are basically like Lifesavers, but you can whistle through the little hole in them. Cool right? They probably don't have these in America because American children are annoying and loud as it is, so this would make it even worse. Bleh. Good thing the alpha wolves scare them away every time. As a side note, there are actually 8 in this package, but I've already tried a few out of sheer curiosity. They're fun, I'll tell you that much!
