Kracie Popin Cookin Taiyaki

These look like quite the varied batch of snacks to make! The star of it of course is the taiyaki, a fish shaped pastry kinda like a waffle, with the filling of your choice (in this case chocolate). From there other Japanese desserts seem to be included: strawberry daifuku, a cup of ramune, and mitarashi dango, which appears to be soy sauced glazed mochi. And it uses the microwave, which is different. Not sure if that's because the products are meant to be eaten hot or because the microwave cooks the various powder/water mixtures.

Odangoyasan DIY Kit

Oh boy, finally a legitimate diy kit! I wagged my tail excitedly when I first saw it, and now it's going into hyper drive as I'm about to try it. Like a propeller. I've really wanted to build things and then eat them for a while, and while I've received DIY kits from Japan Crate in the past, they've seemed a bit... simplistic. But this one has plenty of components to it--5 in fact, which are, in reading order, a matcha roll, strawberry daifuku, kuzu manju, shiritama anmitsu, and kashiwa mochi.

I definitely know what the first two are. The kuzu manju I thought was taiyaki, but seems that kuzu manju can have it as well. Although it seems to be about the same composition as taiyaki being a cake with red bean paste in it. The anmitsu seems to be your typical mochi, paste and dumpling combination. The kasiwa mochi is a red bean stuffed mochi surrounded by an oak leaf. Now that I know what all of these are, let's get into it!

Christmas Chocolate Daifuku

Unsatisfied with my chocolate seeking endeavors, I pull another treat out of the Japan Crate. This one is a daifuku, but I have heard this term before and it actually wasn't, just a marshmallow. Which I am TOTALLY okay with because Japan knows their way around a marshmallow. But this one doesn't seem to say for sure. Looks like a marshmallow to me. It also has another Santa-Rudolph combo on the package which I am loving! Wow I wish I had a special feature like him. Maybe a red stripe on my tail.

Yaokin Strawberry Daifuku Marshmallow

Another marshmallow! With the two highest rated things on this blog so far being marshmallows, you know I'm already salivating for this one. This is strawberry flavored, which doesn't appeal to my puppy senses as much as pudding or churro but I'm sure Yaokin is cooking up something great with this one too. This treat comes courtesy of market-tokyo, who actually gave this as a bonus with my order of their pudding marshmallows. Imagine my surprise! So here we go, another marshmallow to review.
